Slash Film have reported, via Jason X, that TF2 producers were scouting locations with scale models of Optimus Prime, Megatron and Star Scream:
My girlfriend works at Eastern State Penitentiary in the Fairmount area of Philadelphia. It was used as a prison from 1829 until 1971, and is now a historical site and museum. Anyway, at the prison today producers for Transformers 2 were on site with scale models of Megatron, Optimus Prime and Star Scream and were scouting filming locations in cell block 1 and the prison kitchen. Just thought I’d let people know that filming should begin here soon.
In speaking with MTV, Michael Bay has stated that Transformers 2 will not follow suit with recent trilogies and sequels — it will not be a film that promises a lot before leaving you waiting for a third movie and consequent resolution:
“You know how those sequels they do the second one so you go see the third one? [“Transformers 2”] is it,” he said, indicating that “2” would be its own story free from the duel shackles of set-up or resolution. “First one was just introducing, setting up stuff, so we can go a lot farther. Let’s just say [this] is not a lame sequel.”
If “Transformers” was all about introduction, then “Transformers 2” will be all about escalation, with reports that upwards of 20 robots will do battle in the blockbuster sequel. But for Bay, it’s not the number of robots present, but how they’ll be more fully and individually realized that has him excited, he said.
MTV report that Matthew Marsden (Black Hawk Down), has been cast as a member of the British Special Forces.
Marsden has been cast in the role of “Graham,” a character who is part of the British Special Forces. Although the film’s plot is being kept under the tightest veils of secrecy, it is known that the flick will depict an even more worldly battle than the first “Transformers” film, and will shoot all over the globe. In the sequel, Graham teams with Duhamel and Tyrese’s military characters, joining their efforts as they do battle with the evil Decepticons.

The Daily Pennsylvanian reports:
University spokeswoman Lori Doyle explained that filming would tentatively begin around June 12 with scenes using the exterior of the Quad.
According to Doyle, the extensive project is expected to involve about 200 people, 25 tractor-trailer trucks and cranes.
“They have their own landscaping people, they bring in their own catering, it’s a huge operation,” she said.
In addition, scenes will be shot at Psi Upsilon Tau fraternity house, better known as “The Castle,” and possibly on Locust Walk and Spruce Street, Doyle said.
Director Michael Bay was Undergraduate Senior Vice-President of Wesleyan University’s Psi Upsilon chapter during his time in college.
Penn’s Office of University Communications was unable to divulge specific plot elements as the result of a non-disclosure agreement signed with DreamWorks Pictures.
On Don Murphy’s forums he has publicly stated that the production team and co are hoping to achieve a set of 20 robots in Transformers 2, with roughly 10 on each side:
“I’d love and think we could almost barely manage ten on each side, with some front and center and others as more supporting.”
Transformers 2 has a subtitle! In a posting made by producer Don Murphy on his forums, he linked to a blog post, revealing the full title to the sequel:
