Explosions were promised, and Ranger565 (via TLAMB) has come back with his report which you can find below. Now all we need are some pictures and video…
OK Well I work in the area and they have the whole area set up to be China, as you guys know. Now I did see Prime, Bumblebee, the silver corvette, 2 blue cars (small) and Ironhide. All were parked on the back lot behind Catalina Landing!
The scene I witnessed was a traffic scene where they were driving down Shoreline Drive and then 2 flatbed Trucks merge into traffic. THEN BOOOM!!! One of the two trucks blew in half.
NOTE: The Autobots were not in the blow up scene. That’s it the stunt guys got out the cars and the Helicopter flew off. But man that truck blue the trailer hitch right off. Then I heard that it may not have gone according to plan. Both trucks were [supposed] to blow up.

Flickr user mylordsinuhe was on hand at the Queensway bridge in Long Beach last night to capture a shot of Optimus Prime:
Whilst fq9 visited the parking lot to grab images of Optimus covered up, also note the vehicle in the lorry on the right, click the image for a larger version:
The area is covered with E7 boards, the codename for Revenge of the Fallen, whilst Chinese sign posts have been put up in preparation for the movie shoot:
Thanks again to Bruxhina
Andy has informed us that there is a filming notice detailing the closure of the Queensway Bridge for the filming of Revenge of The Fallen on 8/26 and 8/27 in downtown Long Beach, including:
“precision driving..with car stunts and EXPLOSIONS…”
There are also parking lots set up around Pacific and 4th streets downtown which could be the locations for keeping the vehicles.

Thanks Andy!
Flickr user bruxhina also reports that Chinese signs have gone up around the area:
Day 6 (8/26): Suddenly Long Beach has been transformed into little China, with street signs in Chinese. No worries, it’s all Hollywood.
Roberto Orci took some time out to answer fan’s questions over at TFW2005, with comments on Shia LaBoeuf’s hand injury as well as the inspiration behind TF2, animal modes and the marketing push which is set to begin in November (perhaps a trailer released with Quantum of Solace?)
The Injury
“Luckily nothing has to be reshot. Yes, we were on set last week to write it into the movie, not because it’s absolutely necessary, but more because we want to make sure Shia’s hand is protected for the remainder of the shoot…”
Inspirations
“Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, Close Encounters and Terminator 2.” “We were emulating the style of movie from the old Amblin days, like Back to the Future and Gremlins, which if you watch today are still very funny. Also, the cartoon itself was quite funny. Also, comedy makes things more accessible to a larger audience.”
Animal Modes
Will the Sequel have any Transformers with Animal Modes like Scorponok? “All signs point to ‘probably.’”

Megan-Fox.net have posted a number of large images showing Megan Fox on set in LA, once again with co-star Shia La Boeuf but also showing Ramon Rodriguez and Michael Bay.
