We’re back again, this time with an entirely different stunt but once again involving a helicopter and a large building. This comes via chgojobs.
Spectacular stunt for the Batman Begins sequel, The Dark Knight. The scene involves two helicopters hovering next to the tower and five stuntmen that come flying off the building. This was filmed at a high rise under construction near Chicago’s Lake Shore Drive.
At the start not a lot happens, it all kicks off at about 40 seconds in:
I think this is the 8th post in two days: it’s all go at the moment. Anyway, MyFoxChicago are back with another behind the scenes stunt video exclusive, this time it includes people being dangled from a helicopter.
First up, Knightwing10-43 has kindly sent us a set of images from Sunday’s Dark Knight shooting schedule along with a tasty video,
Here are pictures of filming today (8/26/07) which include Christopher Nolan with Gary Oldman in a Ford Excursion on a trailer under the “L” tracks on Wells Street, a video of the SUV with them filming, the stage used in the memorial (empty unfortunately), and a GTA sign (Gotham Transit Authority).
Secondly, thanks to Melrose Park Patti, we have some high quality pictures from the Memorial service:
After the break check out a fascinating gallery of the Chicago Brach’s building donned up as a particularly important structure. Finding out what this building’s purpose is will be a major spoiler, so find the pictures after the break.
We’ve recently been drawn to this impressive post at the SuperHeroHype forums by ChicageauxTiger:
This was the general scene of the shoot:

A few weeks ago we reported about an upcoming and expensive action event — the implosion of Brach Candy factory site. The ever reliable Hollywood Chicago are back with more juicy gossip concerning the nature of the event and most importantly — a date.
The new date is Thursday, Aug. 30. It is scheduled to happen between 10:30 a.m. and noon.
This will be two buildings. The larger building is to be filled with flammable liquids and the second smaller, four-story building will be imploded. This is the last big stunt for the film to be shot.
And to relay the appended information, the address of this site is 401 N. Cicero Ave. in Chicago::
HC’s latest post also discloses the nature of this building. Seeing the picture will reveal the spoiler, follow this dangerous link to continue.
This shooting event was a big occasion, and as expected, a lot of people were there to take pictures. Yippee. One of the best collections of pictures of The Dark Knight Memorial service comes from flickr user kedziers in his Gotham City set.
Here are a few select and super high resolution (2mb each) pictures provided under the Creative Commons license that I have picked out, followed by the traditional flickr slide-show gallery:
Our second set comes from tiffanyjbt. Here we can see Christian Bale, as Bruce Wayne, riding a Ducati:
A third collection comes from nailtechnician’s efforts:
You can find even more here and we’ll probably keep updating this post with more and more links as they come in.
Let’s get some old videos in here too whilst I am at it — these show the street level fire and a helicopter fly-by:
