Firstly on April 28th in a podcast, then on May 10th 2006 at the last E3 expo Metal Gear Solid creator (amidst rumors), Hideo Kojima, made the announcement that a feature-length film adaptation of the popular series was in development:
“I have received many offers to adapt Metal Gear Solid. It has taken a long time, but we have finally settled on an arrangement. False facts aside, a movie project is underway. I have finalized a Class-A contract with a party in Hollywood.” Source.
During this time rumors were abound that the atrocious and pitiful director Uwe Boll (Alone in the Dark, Postal) was somehow involved. At the announcement these rumors were quashed, German director Uwe Boll will not have anything to do with the project — “it’s impossible we’d ever do a movie with him”.

Hi, I think that Hugh Jackman will be the perfect Snake. Nothing more
Hugh Jackman ONLY!
I think David Wenham would make an excellent Snake. Check him out in 300 wearing a bandana and eyepatch looking as solid snake as possible. I really think the best starting point for a series of MGS movies would be to tell the story of Big Boss by adapting MGS3.
hugh jackman only only
IF the movie makers would decide on incorporating the MGS3 story, I think a perfect young Ocelot would be Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor on “Smallville” TV series). If you compare, you’ll see the resemblance between both with the difference that Rosenbaum is “bald” (shaved) because of his role on the series. And Rosenbaum already plays a bad guy, so it’s be easier fo him. Just an opinion, but they look alike…
I think the first movie should be about mgs3 and the perfect snake is kurt russel. the perfect ocelot would be michael rosenbaum. But whatever story you do I will enjoy it.Hideo Kojima excellent game great directing and great story lines.
I recon Christopher Nolan should Direct as well as produce, screenplay and write a scripts look waht he did with Batman he is perfect for the role he would make it faitful to the game like he did with Batman Begins and The Dark Knight he made them faitful to the comics imagine what he could do with metal gear series go on http://www.konami.jp/kojima_pro/english/index.html and go to the mail section and tell them that he is the best for it if you want a faitful adaption then ask for Christopher Nolan he has made films with great reviews and awards he is perfect.
